Timeline

The Timeline is the panel at the bottom of the editor in Animate mode. It is where you control playback, manage animations for the active artboard, and set keyframes (saved property values at specific points in time) for every animated property.

Animation Types

Choose how an animation behaves when it finishes playing.

Animation types

TypeBehavior
One-ShotPlays to the end and stops
LoopPlays from start to end, then repeats
Ping-PongPlays forward to the end, then backward to the start, and repeats

Work Area — A work area defines a shorter playback range inside a longer animation. Use it to focus on one section without changing the full timeline length.

The Navigate Timeline menu lists shortcuts to jump to specific points in the timeline quickly.

Show Only Selected

Show Only Selected filters the timeline so only the tracks for your currently selected objects are visible. Turn it on when the timeline gets crowded with many animated objects.
